Etapp 08 - Grandalen to Bottenstugan
Moving from Etap 09's wilderness to a much more rural space, you'll frequently see evidence of the long history of people living and working on the land. Three wind shelters can be found on this trail, Vindskydd Tvängen, Vindskydd Holmevatten and the one we stayed at detailed below.
Trail Information
8.1 kilometers long and challenging to complete, this section of the trail will take you longer than you'd expect for the relatively short distance. This is a challenging spot to start a hike. The suggestion is to head to stage 9 or 7.

Accommodation & Shopping
Vindskydd Övre Långevatten
Not a huge amount of space for tents, but just about enough, an unstable bench gives a beautiful view over the lake.
The Hut offers a pull-down windshield and a very very low bar on the ceiling, so watch your head. The shelter and benches form a C shape around the fire pit, though no firewood is stored here and no toilet.
Bottenstugan
Also available on this spot is Bottenstugan i Svartedalen, a rentable house with a range of facilities as well as a wind shelter, two toilets, bins and a few tables. A yoga or meditation retreat was just starting as we arrived. Side trails can also be found here, something we'd done previously Bottenstugan i Svartedalen
