A Trip to the Moon (1901)
It has been a year since I stepped into a studio, so it was with some nervousness and excitement that I made my way to Simulacra Studios in Brixton for a shoot based on the 1901 film "A trip to the moon".
The Trail of the Catwoman
I was rather looking forward to this shoot, as I am a huge comics fan, and the chance to shoot a model dressed as Catwoman was too good to pass up.
Advanced Studio Lighting
I recently attended the Advanced Studio Lighting course run by the London Photographic Meetup Group.
Corporate Self Portraits
A few quick images I did today with a manual cable release, tripod and single studio light with soft-box
Body Adornment
This was a meetup of the Alternative Photographer and Models Meetup Group focused on tattoos.
Fun with gels
This was a workshop with the Lightspot meetup group, run by TechnicalBoy at his Studio in Netil House, Hackney
Ella De Vine
I spent some of this afternoon shooting in TechnicalBoy's studio in hackney. This was part of his new Meetup Group Light Spot Studio Photography As part of his group session, he arranged for us to have an hour-long session with a model. We were working with the lovely Ella De Vine.
London Latex
This was a shoot in the north London studio Adrian Pini's Studio, near Brent Cross tube station. The studio itself is in a warehouse district which presents a lot of opportunities for non-studio images to be taken alongside the studio work.
Fashionable Zombies
Saturday, despite the amazing sun, I spent my day in a darkened studio with the undead.... It was a shoot organized by the Alternative Photographers & Models Meetup Group and based at Studio Seventeen in Balham.
Miss Dark Meets Mr Nice
The shots were taken in a cemetery in northern London. We were eventually chased out by the police because the proper permissions had not been arranged.
Fantasy Fashion
This was my first use of the second camera, the Konica had the 50mm lens and the Sony had on the 55-200mm. This covers most of the ranges I use when doing these shoots.
Corporate Stock Imagery
Interesting concept for a shoot and one with a potential for a lot of stock photos. Primarily male models. The shoot took place along Leadenhall street, an old stomping ground of mine I know well, which was useful for finding good locations.
‘80s Fashion
Walking the streets of London as a meetup, we used locations and props with four models to create a vibe from the 1980s.
Urban Decay
For a long time, I personally found that this was my best work. I spent quite some time doing small edits in the backgrounds to remove a couple of areas of overexposure. I really like the composition here…
Goths & Vampires
This was an unusual shoot, it was arranged to take advantage of a Cemetery open day and there were a series of Goths and Vampires there to take advantage of the atmosphere.
Recreating Famous Photographs
Working with five models, we worked to recreate famous photographic images with our own twist as part of one of the London Photographic Meetup Group events.
High Street Fashion
This was my first shoot with models, Laurie was energetic. He would climb fences, boxes or anything else.
