Konjic
Nestled in the heart of Herzegovina, Konjic is a regular stop on many tours. It's a place where the climate takes a turn for the Mediterranean, consistently basking in temperatures that are a delightful 5 degrees warmer than its northern counterparts. This is the start of Tomato Bosnia, my friends, not Potato Bosnia. It's a place where the sun seems to shine a little brighter, the days feel a little longer, and life just seems to move at a more leisurely pace.

Stara Ćuprija
Stara Ćuprija, the Old Bridge in Konjic, is a remarkable testament to the architectural prowess of the Ottoman era. Constructed between 1682 and 1683 by Ali-aga Hasečić, this six-arched marvel, crafted from tufa and stone, has stood the test of time. Despite falling victim to the ravages of war in 1945, the bridge was restored to its former glory in 2009. Now standing as a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it serves as a symbol of resilience and a must-see for any visitor to Konjic. As you tread its ancient stones, you can't help but be captivated by the history it has witnessed and the stories it could tell.

As we were leaving, a parade of school children, some in costumes marched across the bridge. It is something done to mark the end of the school year.

Close to Konjic, the famous war bunker of the Soviet Era leader Tito can be visited. Several places in Konjic offer the tours.
